This is the end.

G.Q. James 1991 (Albany,NY)

Throat needs water from all the yelling/screaming,
Heart needs healing from all the tarnishes,
Legs have been cut from the running,
Hands have become sore from all the praying,
I have nothing left,
I rather be in a box struggling,
Than to be in a mansion suffering,
The glitter and glamour ain't always so nice,
The nicest things come with a painful price.

Don't be fooled by the gifts and money,
The free things come with a bigger price,
Mama ain't raise no fool,
I tried to see something that didn't even exist,
I finally see the clear picture,
Everything has become quite transparent.

I thought their was a ounce of goodness left,
I can see that's not the case,
We try to convince ourselves of something,
Even when we deep down know the truth,
For the first time I see it all vividly,
Ain't nothing to say the actions say it all,
Ain't mad I'm amused and not even surprised.

Same ole habits and behavior,
No matter how much time passes,
Nothing will ever change with you,
You are who you are,
It's best we both just move forward,
Ain't no looking back,
This is the end.
