I Hope You can Hear Me

I hope you can hear me

When I think of you and get an overwhelming sense of bitter-sweet glee

For all the good times we shared are engraved in my memory

Bitter for future events without you that I think of in my reveries

I will do my best to hold my head high

Even when, thoughts of missing you make me want to cry

Instead, I will feel your warmth when I look to the sky

For I know I will see you again and this is not goodbye

I hope you can hear me

My greatest wish is that you are at peace with the almighty

A belief I will cherish and hold tightly

As I keep your memory alive every day and nightly

In doing so will help you shine through me brightly

I hope you can hear me

Be well wherever you are

I know you will always be near yet far

Like the night sky with a big twinkling star

I will love you forever and always from afar

I hope you can hear me

It’s time to say good night

A thought that fills me with fright

But rest assured your memory will fill my heart with delight

Giving me the strength I need to be alright

Rest in peace

Now that you are deceased
