With Style in this Pandemic

Once I wake up in the morning I look into the mirror
I see an image looking back at me; I wonder who is there?
I gaze upon this marvelous face and much to my surprise,
Discover that I am that face which I highly prize.

So, too, I know I am a wonderful work of art!
I know I can do many things and be a part
Of all of us, as it goes, to be a person in this place;
To reach out to everyone and with my spirit embrace
The unity we share as each woman, child, and man
Together seeking friendship; life’s harmony as best we can.

No matter where we come from; no matter how near or far
I can journey along hand in hand to reach the brightest star.
I’m a person with style; I have a celebrated role;
Bringing forth myself, I share my loving soul.

I’m a person with style; I have a special kind of class;
I stand and shine for all to see like of piece of polished glass.
I’m a person with style, and you I do invite
To make with me an eternal adventure, reaching the highest heights.

During this most challenging health crisis here on earth
Just being who I am, I share my dignity and worth.
While loving my neighbor, whoever they may be,
I wear my face mask and social distance; this is key.

Respect toward others can keep me safe and healthy
By washing my hands and facetiming can keep the virus from me.
I am one of a kind as each and every one of us are
Staying safe and healthy will take us very far.

The human race is resilient and able to make a stand
As the effective force to beat this virus’ demand
Of simply surviving without prejudice or malice
Without judgement or politics to be contained within it palace;

A living breathing specimen, a person, pet, or more;
This COVID 19 virus doesn’t think or keep a score
Of how many lives it has impacted each and every day
Whether we survive or simply pass away.

The joy, peace, sorrow, and anxiety
Demonstrate my humanness, my treasures in society.
Although I am only one on a family of billions
I am able to be the best I can as one of life’s children.
