Jingle in My Bingle

Got a little jingle in my bingle
And some Christmas in my step
I’m full of holiday spirit
I wonder if Santa got my letter yet

Dear Santa, said I
I been a good boy all year
I’m trying to be a better me
Like I said I would last year

This year I don’t need any toys
I left them in the past a long time ago
Actually, what I’d really like
I think you already know

I want everyone everywhere
To set aside their differences and smile
Learn to understand one another
Be a friend across the miles

I want all who suffer
To know better days
Take away their personal pain
Give to them a happier way

I want enough love
To go around the world
Enough for everyone
Especially every boy and girl

If everyone could remember
Why we celebrate Christmas
The birth of Jesus Christ
The son of God who saved us

Got a little jingle in my bingle
And some Christmas in my step
I’m full of holiday spirit
I wonder if Santa got my letter yet

DanceOfThePoet'sPen

Guess you could say I'm a self taught poet. I started writing poetry as a means of dealing with the emotions of finding my Birthmother's obituary and grave site after searching for 10 years. I continued writing and over the course of the last 20 years I've become comfortable in how I write. You'll notice I tend to write a lot about nostalgia and old memories. Hey, when you round the corner of 60 years, you start thinking a lot about the past and where you've been. One of my subjects I write about is love, but I try to write of other things too. I've lived on the south shore of Massachusetts for all of my 64 years. But I love all of New England. Aside from writing poetry, I also love photography and have quite a collection of old antique cameras. Baseball, football, muscle cars and car shows are also some of my interests. Not too crazy about Winter. Spring & Summer are my favorite seasons. more…
