La Belle Dame

Dans le chaland moussu, la petiote ignorant
Sa figure comme son âme,
Pour la première fois, près de sa sœur qui rame,
Va sur l’étang vert transparent.
« Oh ! fait-elle, soudain, vois donc la belle dame
Là, dans l’eau, l’œil bien grand... bien grand ! »
Et, le cœur gros, les yeux déjà mouillés, reprend :
« Moi ! j’voudrais ben l’embrasser, dame ! »
La sœur répond : « Pleur’ pas ! c’te personn’là, ma foi !
Est ni plus ni moins bell’ que toi. »
Puis, elle ajoute, goguenarde :
« Au surplus, ton envie est commode à passer !
Tu n’as toi-mêm’ qu’à t’embrasser
Puisque c’est toi-mêm’ que tu r’gardes.
