The lost souls at sea.

A J C 1958 (Swansea, MA)

The lost souls and shadows.

Why do I cry? I don't know why. My tears come from a sadness making their way into my eyes. I look at the joyful golden daffodils, and it brings me back to the past. These tears are like the first sunbeam hitting a ship's sails; they carry everyone we love back. It's sad, like a strange and dark summer morning, and the birds are still half awake. They sing for all the lost souls who were lost at sea, and now I see they sing for them, not me.
