The Beast and Machine

Lindsay Mayeux 1992 (United States of America)

The Eye of Sauron,
A war of the unseen,
Good and evil clash,
The Earth;
A battleground,
This is ground zero,
Data tracking,
Computer chips,
Digital prison,
Watchmen -
Watching,
The innocent
Butchered or
Torn apart,
To bring about our
Despair
The hopelessness,
It feeds on,
This machine,
Controlled and made
By the Beast,
We are its energy,
Its hate for us immeasurable,
We are but a cog,
To the rulers in charge
Darkness reigning
The devil's stage,
They can't take,
What we don't allow.

"This machine controlled and made by the beast", paints such a beautiful picture of human sufferings, oppression and the loathe for humanity and the earth, which is its "battle ground".
I also love that you pointed how "we are a cog" to their nefarious plans.
Please keep writing. I love this.
