Emotional Breakdown

Donna Fulton 1978 (Oberlin)

It's been so many years ago since the pain began. Everyday it feels like the first time all over again. I always thought things would never change. Till the lord came and took our rock away. I remember it all so clear, my fathers time was coming near. there was nothing we could do , but hold him close to show our love was true.
When the priest came in his last rights , my heart fell deep into my soul that night.
I was headed towards an emotional breakdown,
my mind, body and, soul came falling to the ground.
I picked myself up off the floor.
I couldn't imagine leaving him and walking out the door.
