TATTERED DREAMS

TATTERED DREAMS

Corruption gnaws a noble dream
Losing the true way
Lost voice can't scream
Can't whisper, can't pray

Where do you stand
When the deck is stacked?
Do you see the Hand
That has always backed?

Perception is nothing
Visions aren't real
Twisted chorus they sing
Not voicing what we feel

The lie is whispered truth
The motto is a tarnished ruin
Where is the hope of our Youth?
In God we shall trust?

The Land of the Free
The braved the oceans storm
Crossed the wild raging sea
They had no shelter to keep warm

Now I stand here and have to say
As the Cross is taken down
What happened to America's dream
Lying dead on the dusty ground?

Don't mention God, absurd!
The foundation of our very nation
Has always been God's Word
It's been our very Salvation!

Being gay? It's okay
Right here in our rules
What?  You want to pray?
Not in OUR schools!

Our hypocrisy is plain to all
And one way or another
Truth is going to have to call
Where are you my brother?

Stand in Truth agate lie
Faith will lead the way
Across the land we pass by
People will start to pray

By faith love the just
And the dam will burst free
Salvation if we trust
The One who sets us free!

O' find the golden dream
Finding paths to the true way
Binding the Devil's every scheme
When we shout, when we pray
Amen
