The Battle Rages On

I’m frustrated and angry! I thought…I’d hoped you were gone for good, I was finally feeling happiness, contentment and adventurous like I should.  Then…there you were! Dragging me back down and stealing my joy, that’s what you do, you seek to destroy. The light is fading as I slowly slip back into the dark, hoping and praying for one little spark. You’re relentless and your grip is strong, you have a way of making me feel like I’m where I belong. The harder I fight, the stronger your grip, with every step forward, three steps back I slip. No matter how many times I’ve traveled this road before, I still can’t see an end to this war. It seems like my efforts are always in vain, because no matter how hard I try, I can’t seem to escape the pain. I won’t give up, I did it before, I can do t again, I’ll keep on fighting and maybe one day I’ll win.
