I Feel Sixteen

Adjekawen A. Jeremiah 1998 (Delta State, Nigeria)

What could be sweeter
Than that stolen?
What could be more satisfying
than a bite from a fruit
dangling from a tree?
I contemplate aloud,
catching a glimpse
of your body afar;
What a creature
I’ve come to see!

You have a lover
I know,
It is not of him I inquire
It is your attention I require.
I am no preacher of love
But I’ve got enough goods
to spoil and spoil you good

That shy smile on your face
Is that for me?
Oh!
I feel sixteen.
Those wide eyes,
those full cheeks,
those plump lips
Your smooth face
Your slender shape
that refined nose
I can’t say no.

Your slender shape
As though carved
by the gods themselves
Seated
on those curvaceous legs
Already belabored
by the size of your buttocks,
Ignites my desires
and increases the dopamine
in my hypothalamus
Oh!
I feel sixteen.

The straps
of your lace thong
The ridge
of your underwear
Visible behind
your clingy, translucent
buttercream gown,
Like ripples across a pond
like contrails
across the horizon
Oh, transparent temptation!

Show me the behind and the beside
Turn!
Show me the before and the behind
Pause!
Pose!
Pose my fine doe,
Pose.
Let the young men drink their fill but
only with their eyes
never be satisfied
They wish to capture you
With the lens of their lusty eyes
filled
with unbridled desire
with passion and fire
But they are broke
He can’t afford a beauty
such as yours.
Hop in then
and we’ll be off
I’ve got enough goods
to spoil and you good.

You are too close to me
And,
You are too far from me;
Oh confusion!
Robb my shiny scalp
Make the old forget
How it feels to be old
Make me feel young again.
Your body,
there is this hunger
It instigates;
I’m famished.
While you lie face up
in surrender
Let me pull loose the straps,
the thin straps,
the straps of your thong,
the double strap thong;
Let me take a slurp
from your milk pot

In the red wagon
Let me take us on a trip
in the red wagon
Let me drive you
Let me touch you
and make your body shiver
and shake
Let me touch you
Until syrup drip
From your honey pot
Let me speed up
Until we can breathe no more
