My life my mantra

My life my mantra

I often question my purpose for being here,
Whoever our creator has not made himself clear,
I had a cracking start, but what goes up must come down
And although I tried so hard to wear my smile as a crown,
it wasn't long until things began to fall apart,
And Life became unbearable, actually it was really f**king hard,
Excuse my french but my god, and I did forsake that name,
I wasn't grateful to be here, I'd lost everything I'd worked so hard to gain,
I'd love to say that it didn't take long for things to start turning around
But weeks became months, months became years, until I lost count,
Change didn't come for a long time, but I held in there,
Not that I had much choice to be fair,
But finally! I'm on my way back up there,
Don't get me wrong I don't foresee a clear straight path,
But this dark tunnel finally has a glimmer of light, trickling in the black,
And I'm going to get there, some day, somehow, someway
And if I can so can you my friend! It might not be tomorrow or today,
Just keep pushing because one step might lead to two,
And remember this little mantra when you are feeling faithless,
I know that I have a purpose, I was created for greatness,
Granted yes I'm a work in progress,
But I'm learning I'm evolving I'm changing, I'm turning darkness into light
And I'm grateful for that, and believe that hope is still alive,
however small, or dull it's tiny little light.
