Behind this story

Richard J Edwards 1960 (Ft Belvoir)

There's a reason behind this story.

God has been with me since I could form a thought. I always felt his presence.

In-between sunrises and sunsets I was a free spirit at the age of 3rd grade. When out to play I traveled by bike all over the city on more than one occasion in many different states. It was the last quarter of the 60's and a quarter the way into the 70's. Seeing how I was a 1960's baby the free vibe was still in the air and I soaked it up just by breathing. It's amazing that I still managed to flunk a class as a senior and still had more credits than needed to graduate. I was not the best of student until the end of my sophomore year when I knew I had better get going so I could get that diploma because a nongrad might as well be a dropout during my time. I kept my head above water just enough to still be able to play sports and band. I went to 4 different high schools in 4 different states.
I even did a 21yr career in the Navy. I'm sharing this with U'all because I spent a lifetime behind the 8ball because I was and still am a dreamer.
I dreamt all through 2nd grade that the teacher invited me back the following year. And it was cool being the oldest kid in the class. The teacher insisted I learn to atleast count to 4 so if I made it to high school I'd know when I was supposed to finished. I'll leave it there for now and I have millions of stories. If no one is bored with me I'll post more here and there.
