A big old tree

It spoke to me

And showed me how the world could be


By telling stories of when he was young

Millions of trees among him hung

Shaking leaves in unison

A verdant green beneath the sun

All gone now except but one


A big old tree

That spoke to me

And made it all but clear to see

How the world should really be
