IF YOU LOSE

William Mkpanam 1995 (Akwa ibom)

If you lose a car
and behold it was plush
it leaves in your heart a scar
don't worry much
in time you may get such.

If you lose a house
you suffer a lot to build
get your hot heart a douse
wade of the pain
with time you may get again.

If you lose some money
you know it's hard to raise
try and be a little sunny
give your thought a brake
very soon you will remake.

If you lose a lover
And have a broken heart
soon you will  recover
they are abound
so my dear look around.

But, if you lose a life
of yours or someone close
then people mourn in grief
I don't know what to say
for lo in grave you lay.
