For Now

Why is it every time I think about her
all I see is a beautiful disaster.
For when the sun sets on memories
I can feel my heart beating faster,
Yet I still stay here,
waiting for it to clear.
So that I don’t make a mistake
or frustrate you my dear.

How about we
move past playing games?
We could build each other anew
picking out cute pet names.
I miss you close
I miss you so much
like when when the sound of your voice would feel like a loving touch..

So much time has passed,
and away with it each year
I no longer remember your voice,
or a way to attempt to hear.

I’m deaf to the sound
of everyone around me.
I miss giving you all the praise and saying how proud of you I’d be.

Please let me erase
all of your mistakes
as I  cross my heart
and engrave your name
I'd give up my life
to take away all your pain.

This emptiness I feel
when we're so far apart
Like a brush stroke on canvas
Loving you felt like creating art..

You are my once and always
never wanting to turn the page.
I hoped this story
couldn't fade with age age

Yet for the time being
I'll just save our place.
