Life is Beauty, Life is Pain

Martha Spears 1991 (SLC, UT)

Life is Beauty, Life is Pain

I've traveled many bizarre places
Skeptical of love and what it truly was
I've loved and I've lost
And broken hearts of my own too
Only to discover
Life is beauty, Life is pain
Controlled and manipulated
by a narcissist
I've soon found out I had a voice
and I saw my second chance for happiness
So I grabbed it and ran like hell
For
Life is beauty , Life is pain
I'm ready to write and tell my story
So listen up if you please
Domestic violence is no joke
The pain it sucks you dry
Enough to where you go insane
But
Life is beauty , Life is pain

About this poem

It tells my story on how I survived/ escaped Domestic Violence, It also tells how I was controlled and manipulated by a narcissist, during my struggle, it took everything I had in me to love who I was and that's when I saw my second chance for happiness and I took that opportunity to save myself, my poem itself is self explanatory.
