The Big Black Man

When they see him
All that is asked is,
“Did you play ball?”
Nothing about his intellect at all.
Did you know he’s educated?
When instead he could’ve been incarcerated,
Or his life goals after university.
Did you consider he is someone breaking curses,
Unlike many of those before him?
How about what are his thoughts on society,
No? That is great trifle.
The Big Black Man is possible of much in life,
Just as any of those who are not him,
So how is he labeled off as “The Athlete”
When his life capabilities are unlimited?

You are more than they think you are to be.
