Shattered images

Shattered images

Desires diminish in clouds of age only to repeat themselves eternally through black and white memories replaying mindless games without justification to consequence.
Participated now forgotten, as told old soldiers just fade away, but the hearts and minds we possess still beat to the activities of achievement once accomplished with honor and loyalty.
Boots on the ground, we swore an oath to defend crown, country, and family. Now anguished with frustration over political powers who defy the fundamental principle of sovereign achievements. Won by the Sacrifice of millions that traveled this path only to fall in foreign lands, forever loyal to the brotherhood and country we served.
Shall political illusions replace the sacrifices from millions honored by the cross of stone in defending this great nation or will greed and diversion direct the laws of the land we once defended.
Sadly, in time our children shall come to understand when and how fate was changed from defending freedom into the darkness of nonaccountability defined by our now governing power.
