Sit
We sit with none but silence
Apprehensive towards a thought
We much less would speak at all
For all truly falls to nought
Sit with me, my dearest friend
Give an end to your striving
You’ve no place but here to be
Close your eyes to see the night end
Shake and shutter, break apart
This art form is true being
Only by losing yourself
Can you gain everything
Reveal to me what remains
My disdain has lost its place
In the presence of a truth
Which behooves me to erase
From the crib unto coffin
I have often gathered lies
Built entire worlds upon them
Let them be personified
It seems I know not this man
Whom would stand to be showcased
To be exalted above
Every time and every space
Whereby do my possessions
Seem to lessen all at once
That I would give them away
Seems to be the great affront
The truth of this matter is
I desist from fallacy
Humble eyes gazing skyward
Crying for the world beneath
