FIRE IN THE SKY

FIRE IN THE SKY

We watch the fire fly through the night
Lord we pray as your people fight
See the innocent blood cry from the ground
Feel the wrath of God's people rise all around

Cry for the peace, they shattered at will
Cry for the lives, that the evil did still
Rage at the enemies of Mighty Israel
God fight the battle with a fist of steel

We weep with Israel over the fallen
We rage with Israel as bombs start falling
We fight with Israel as the enemy defies
Blood for blood, so the enemy dies

Oh Jerusalem, arise in your Anger and rage
Be God's wrath to awaken this skeptical age
Fight your enemies, avenge the blood
Let righteous vengeance rise in a flood

Woe to those who kill God's own
Judgment come from His Throne
Israel, the apple of God's eye you attack?
And you expect God to hold back

Lord we watch you rise in wrath
Woe to the people standing in Your path
The blood of Your people cry out to You
The world will witness in awe what you do

We pray for Israel's peace, in the midst of war
Though the battle moves on with rage they store
Comfort Your people Lord, Your enemies scatter
These enemies for life doesn't care or matter

Fire in the sky, death comets of the night
Heralds of destruction, in this ugly fight
Oh Gaza now you cower and hide
After dancing in blood of your arrogant pride

Yesterday blood of God's people was shed
We all watched the ravishing of their dead
But tomorrow? Oh tomorrow the Angel of death
Will reap from those, who sowed brutal death
Amen

About this poem

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you be secure. May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels.” For the sake of my family and friends, I will say, “Peace be within you.” For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, Psalms 122 6-9
