FAITH OVER FEAR

FAITH OVER FEAR

Down to the bottom of my hope
How much farther can I fall?
Disaster sown right off the scope
Debris of dreams surrounds us all
Is there a way out of here?
Can Faith be found inside fear?

Trouble plagues me on every side
I try to find the joy, but it eludes
I'm crushed by the collapse of pride
In my despair the Devil slyly concludes
That there's no way outta here
Faith will never be found in fear.

Lord! Why does darkness persist!
Why does it press from every side?
I stand firm, I stubbornly resist
I stand among the shrapnel of pride
Why can't I find a way outta here?
Can my Faith ever overcome my fear?

No more!I fall down to my knees
No more, I turn at last to the Cross
Oh Jesus please hear my pleas
I'm tired of being fear tossed
Lord please lift me up from here
Let my Faith crush my fear

Now I stand, in Christ I am secure
And darkness flees the rising light
His Blood washes me and I'm pure
My troubles are minor in His Might
And truly I can see from here
The Light of Faith outsides fear
AMEN

About this poem

Surely the righteous will never be shaken; they will be remembered forever. They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord. Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear; in the end they will look in triumph on their foes. Psalms 112 6-8
