Heroic: part 3

The hero saw when arriving
a town, poor but thriving
ideas his blessing and his curse
he'd aim to vastly increase their purse
and help this economy with its reviving

He spoke of crops across the land
that would put more coin in hand
convinced by the points he made
the young men were easily swayed
and ignored the mayor's command

The hero soon left for glory and gold
away from the town, too wet and cold.
It became clear they chose the wrong crop,
As they watched their yields drop,
and saw the elders' wisdom unfold.

The caravans came, looking so grand,
they brought coin and contracts in hand.
They came to buy for guaranteed sale
not these goods from a harvest failed
no payment the caravan commanded

So the carts departed without new goods
the traders angry, passing through the woods
now many granaries would be filled short
for this foolish town failed to export
impacting the whole region's livelihood
