DEATH KNOCKED

DEATH KNOCKED

Death knocked on my door
Go away, you aren't welcome anymore
You aren't my sister, my brother
And I know for sure you ain't my mother

Death knocked like an old unwelcome friend
Begging to be let in again
I'm tired of being your unwilling host
Taking my love when I need it the most

Death knocked, as patient as old Job
As if I'd welcome him with a guest robe
But the welcome mat is put away
Leave now, come some other day

Death knocked, I locked the door
He's not welcome here any more
I will not answer, and Death will leave
Or so my desperate heart told me to believe

Death knocked, like a thief in the night
Taking those we love to God's Light
Weep when he knocks, for seperation is nigh
But when he knocks we'll be united bye and bye

Death knocked, but the Lord overcame
As do all who trust in Jesus name
We rise in the Glory of our King
Oh Death, where is thy sting?
Amen
