I stare in the face of the devil
The cross makes the ground level
My enemies tremble at God's might
The battle's over before we fight

Tremble in the face of your loss
Fall before the grace of the Cross
Sin's power is shattered, broken
For, "it is finished!" Was spoken

The power of the enemy fled
When my Lord rose from the dead
Where saints walk demons flee
Who the Son sets free, indeed is free

What accusations can you make,
That the Blood of Jesus doesn't take?
What crime can you try and claim
Is greater than my Savior's name?

Yes, once I belonged to you, as you say
But that ended, when I fell to pray
Now your power is ended and done
Chains are broken in the Light of the Son

Fool! You fall before the almighty Lord
You crumble as all His wrath is poured
Your accusations, and empty taunts
Come short, and come to naught

I stand in faith, as my enemy falter
All my sin is on the Lord's altar
No power has he to any more deceive
When our Lord's Word by faith believe
AMEN

About this poem

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. James 4 7-8
