BATTLE IN THE LAND OF LIBERTY

BATTLE IN THE LAND OF LIBERTY

A soldier follows masters to war
In a fog not felt before
Fiery trial, death of life and love
Birth of hate and death, pain is made of

Fire burns to an ash noble stands
Bitterness tears Liberty's Lands
A soldier wonders where to go
When ALL powers are just to show

The heart of a Nation under the Cross
Silent-still-torn by its ultimate loss
Denial, betrayal, love severed all 'round
Ashes-to-ashes we all fall down

Families grow distant, none dare speak
A black heart beats, dare we peak?
Corruption gnaws a noble plan
Claims that God is but a man

The Cross is taken down, Temple desecrate!
Please turn around America! It's too late!
His Hands and Feet peirced once more
His blessed people go to war!

No words of His we hear
In this nation He holds dear
But how long will He withhold
Wrath against evil grown so bold?

The seas close in on every side
Mountains and valleys beg to hide
But cities from New York to L.A.
Maintain that God is far away

Churches empty---pews are bare
They dance with the devil, and don't care
Pastors retire to studies in dust
The gleaming Cross appears to rust

New-age pagans shine like gold
To the lie America is sold
The Fire burns, the Land darkens
Heavens Voice America never harkens

Violence fills the hearts of youth
Hatred's doctrine is the city's truth
None are faithful, no one trusts
Where is the fabled Land of the Just?

Yet a still small Voice echoes the Land
Against which none can hope to stand
Reminding us whence we came
By whose Power, in whose Name

Ears prickly, eyes search close by
A few feel the death we must soon die
The defeat once certain to be
Is fought anew by the Truly Free

Liberty rises, though the battle's hard
Evil fades by evil's own card
The Lord arises in anger's heat
And His will shan't be beat

The battle heatens every day
The Truth leads Liberty's way
The lies begin to crumble
Halted not by political mumbles

So to battle we go in victory sure
Liberty is hatreds final cure
Trust, be faithful, and follow true
This is His will, this we will do
AMEN

About this poem

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7 14
