Are you present

In the silence of our minds we linger and hold onto memories that are proof of our previous days and seems like previous life. In groups of 10's called decades we slowly leave portions of our yesterday's and develop into a new version of ourselves that slowly peels back like an onion. Often times as we come into the new us we try and pick and choose what characteristics we bring with us and sometimes fate chooses for us. The intention and desire to be better versions of ourselves is always there however maybe life is not done teaching us. Over the years experiences help develop us. Over the years examples from the adults we trust develop us. Then one day we are adults ourselves and are left with the baggage of bad habits that we were lead to believe were good or ok traits.  The world is riddled with babies having babies and the adolescent become parents long before they become grown up. Thus they're starting off behind the 8 ball. Every person comes into adulthood with a bag of things they've discovered on their own that is good and works As well as a bag of mislead old stuff that they have a hard time not keeping around in the basement just to remind them of their faults kind of like keep your enemies closer so you can control them sort of thing. Life is anything but fair. Life will not be fabulous when left alone. Life demands constant work and even in retirement you can never just let it be. We have to remain involved so we can guide our life down the right road all the time because there are forces that will ruin you if left alone.
