City Dreams

He dreams with eyes wide open, the city is where he wants to be. Mother asks why aren’t you asleep? he says he doesn’t want to miss a New York minute. Mother utters you are where you needs to be, these paths are written, they’re unscripted long before we enter with Allah’s permission. She reminds him city dreams are not for the faint of heart, the lights guide you in. Show you a dream of unlimited potential, which in fact is detrimental. As it lures you in the devil comes out even with the lights on, shows you a good time and makes you forget the Salah time. Too young to know this, old enough to miss it, you’ll be there when you’re 18 if that what Allah indeeds. Mother says the man who made her and the man who claimed her let her down in disappointment. She wants to mold her son into a Muslim man that she can be proud of, so his son is ambitious.

ZA- tell him that you make her proud.
