A release from summer

Bill Wilkins 1971 (Norwich Ct)

A lazy summer day, the sun beats down
The hungry mosquito lands on my
hot sweaty Skin. I slap it off to avoid the itch
Saved from the alcohol stick.

I get up from the lounge as my skin and the chair make a separation noise from sticking together. I walk the sliding door to my kitchen to pour myself a fresh cold glass of lemonade to quench my thirst for a refreshing release from the hot sun.

I jump into a hot shower to finally cool off
A release from a hot summer day.
