Just a daughter

Just a daughter.
I am just a daughter.
The middle daughter.
A middle child.
I am the second to graduate,
but not the first.
I am the one who had to raise herself
because they did their best with the first and had moved onto their third.
The one who has to sacrifice her desires for everyone else.
The one who hides the make or break family secrets.
The one who’s “Mature” but too immature.
The one who looks out for her younger sister because her older sister never did for her.
The one who stops the parent fights late at night.
The one who stays up late just be at one with the night.
The one who wishes for just five seconds of peace.
The one who tried to be enough but never was.
But,
I am just a daughter.
So please,
Continue.
