Evenings

Winter had begun:
The snow falls in ones and twos
From clouds aloft
The homes of comfort .
In the stillness of evenings
Humanity unwind
With book and brew
To muse their nomadic day.

Beside them , at ease ,
Loved ones share combined bliss ,
Candles flickering ,
And a journal filled  with romance ,
Laid bare on the table:
Outside , the snow
Intensifies their thermal sanctuary

That remains a sanctum
(But the sun is lazily rising) ,
And humanity , so longing to
Savour every dreamy second ,
Await the glow of sunrise.
Their souls have rested.
Rejuvenation allows them
To endure another moon.
