Fishing for Memories

Fishing for Memories

The best times of my youth were spent in a boat.
Me and my dad, through the bayous we'd float.
Digging worms together,or catching bait with a net.
How I lived for our fishing trips, I can never forget.
Waking up early, before the crack of dawn.
Watching the sunrise over the water and shining upon.
Dad shared his wisdom and knowledge that molded his little man.
Taught me to be self sufficient and live off the land.
He'd patiently untangle my line and remove my bait from the trees.
Bundled me up on those frigid mornings do I wouldn't freeze.
Those fishing trips of yesterday are embedded in my soul.
Just me and my dad in that old fishing hole
