The beginning to an end

As the snow drifts by my silhouette, I stared into the horizon, far away. Deep down, my heart kept beating, second by second, minute by minute. I was being crushed by the truths of reality as my soul withered in the empty void of despair. I knew this day would come, the day I hoped to never see, the day in my nightmares. Why did I still bother? I should have ended things the way it was, and maybe I would have been happier. We never will know, why the world is such a cruel place, where dreams go to die and hopes turn into despair. Truly, I knew that my existence had no meaning, no purpose and no direction. I had failed, in everything and in life. To you, I want to let you know that no matter what you do, it is never enough to stand in this freezing cold, for what we do will forever be blown away, eradicated from this world.  Welcome to the harsh reality of this world, my friend.
