Lovers end

I remember when our souls were intertwined like a rose and its vines.
life seemed as carefree as a child’s laughter.
when our souls yearned for each other we would fill each other’s cups.
The cups overflowed with love & pain
Maybe the pain outweighed the love?
Or the love was not strong to hold onto?
You never really know because it’s hard to tell
Love is a drug, pain is a game
And we’ll never know which one caused it to tip over.
Only time can tell
One thing I can say is remember when our souls were intertwined like a rose and its vines?
Our story was precious and divine but,
Only this time the cup has smashed
And we’re left alone  to pick up the parts for our hearts
No more of our souls yearning for each other
No cups to be filled with love and pain.
Just fragments of pieces  left with an unfinished story.
