(You’re Only My Boyfriend) When I’m Drunk

Hey there new boy
Just one look at you
And I knew that you were mine
I always see
The way you look at me
Every time that I walk by
It started small
A shot of alcohol
With a quick twist of lime
I knew it quick
That you and I would stick
But then a thought came to mind

Cuz we’re running out of time
And I’m just losing my mind
I just spilled the drink that’s in my cup
But we’re closing in
Here’s where we quit being friends
Cuz you’re only my boyfriend
When I’m drunk
When I’m drunk
When I’m drunk

We started making out
But I started freaking out
I didn’t like what’s in front of me
So I started making drinks
My inhibitions began to sink
And then the rest was history

Cuz we’re running out of time
And I’m just losing my mind
I just spilled the drink that’s in my cup
But we’re closing in
Here’s where we quit being friends
Cuz you’re only my boyfriend
When I’m drunk
When I’m drunk
When I’m drunk

After all is said and done
You’re just another one
It’s sure been fun
It’s sure been fun

Cuz we’re running out of time
And I’m just losing my mind
I just spilled the drink that’s in my cup
But we’re closing in
Here’s where we quit being friends
Cuz you’re only my boyfriend
When I’m drunk
When I’m drunk
When I’m drunk

About this poem

A song written by the band about two mutual friends of NFC that consistently made out while out drinking at NFC shows, but when we returned to campus during the week, avoided each other.
