If Ever

                    If Ever
            By Nancy Rodriquez

If ever your heart would change ,
Your fears be relieved too,
You would not remain the same ,
Our dreams would then come true ,
If ever trust had not been broken ,
The ashes would be offered as à token ,
Our love could prosper into fulfillment ,
Instead of bitter resentment ,
We know we are meant to soar ,
As a rocket in its galore ,
Cupid’s arrow’s aim would not be amiss ,
We could be living in such bliss ,
Not a care spared for tomorrow ,
As now we seem lost in sorrow ,
The sting of lovers crying for mercy seed ,
Tears as lost as can be,
If ever.
