Everyday

Robert loughran 1962 (Ireland)

You had become the normal, the everyday ,the expected.
like  air essential but  unnoticed,
only your absence awakens my conflicted self to my
  blindness ,
to you the ground the walls around me.
 Oblivious supported protected yet unaware
to this life support. this barrier to aloneness.
Where the cracks and fissures of my own heart, would rend  more disfigured from a life far more loveless.

I have failed i am failing still ,but at least i see the cost.
of the greatest gifts neglected ,of the loves that we have lost.
