Gifts

Contemplate the gifts God sends,
Their amazing variety and scope,
The generosity they display,
And how they inspire hope.

Consider the miracle of “daily life”,
Anything but ordinary or bland:
But an incredible chain of circumstances
Straight from the Master’s hand.

Remember that everything you are,
All that you use or covet or own,
Is a holy grant given in love,
Something of a “high-interest” loan:

Seek to know the Giver’s wishes,
How you can share this divine treasure,
How you can show your gratitude
For His kindness beyond all measure.
