The pain

Rumbles underneath the staircase of my soul like rain

The monsters trying to ascend and make a mess of my mind

I wish the pain would end

I see stealthy wise ancestors of time destroying my will to be alive

I feel angry mobs of coffee shop patrons wishing death upon my life

I hear yelling and screaming in acts of violent rebellion, obstinant terrorists wishing destruction upon the walls

Blood-stained walls, streets of screaming

Teardrops of children who have been abandoned by their mothers wash over me like waves of the sea

I see death everywhere

The devils want to bury me under this earth, the core heated by rage, hatred and jealousy

The bloody hands of angry passers-by having only just now taken the life of their last victim

I am not excused from this hatred, they want my life too

I pray to you, Jesus, my spiritual confidant, my master, to save me from this hellish pit

I feel your holiness in my heart

Please take it over

It is yours

I've cried too many tears waiting for your touch all of these years

Rescue me savior, Lord of all that is and ever will be

You are the love of my life
