Snookered

    Well I'm finally free and plainly see that you sure snookered me.
For all this time I've been a fool your lies I could not see
You told me that you loved me and led me to believe
That soon we'd be married that I'm your only squeeze.

     So many family crises I thought they'd never end
You're wearing out all my cars there's always one to mend.
You're always on the road or phone finding ways to spend
More of my money and time with other men.

     Well ever since you hooked me and kept me on your line.
You've been busy fishing, casting out more lines
Spending all my money while acting like you're mine
But I'm just a worn out toy you're cutting from your line.

     I baby sat your children while you were running around
Now I find you're seeing most every man in town
There's the butcher and the baker, some are slim and some are round
There's also the postman and the mayor of the town.

     Now here I am looking back with a grin upon my face
Watching as you twist and squirm when it's thrown back in your face
The pain of being snookered you'll find has an awful taste
And you realize on your stringer there's a big old ugly snake.

     Yes, somewhere on your stringer there's a big old sneaky snake.
