The conflict



I speak of wisdom and yet my heart waits for a response.
My heart, it appears is marching to another beat.
All I can do is be a witness to the divergent paths of my soul and heart
And let each be to its own.
Heart pains me when it leaps up at every sound hoping it’s him
My soul seeks to calm me down by saying that this strife is where growth is
But I feel them both and I am detached as well as suffering - for I am the wise and I am the foolish
All lies within me and now
I need to wait for my inner workings to align and bring me peace - however that may look

About this poem

It describes the conflict of waiting for someone to reach back and respond with connection and letting go and marveling at what was rather than desiring what should be.
