It's Not Easy

It’s Not Easy

By Robert T. Davenport

In a world of darkness and despair,

Where negativity pervades the air,

I strive to uplift, to inspire, to heal,

But writing poetry becomes an uphill ordeal.

How can I weave words of hope and light,

When darkness surrounds me day and night?

The weight of negativity, heavy on my soul,

Makes it hard to find the words to console.

I sit at my desk, pen in hand,

But the words escape, like grains of sand.

My heart aches, my spirit grows weak,

As I struggle to find the solace I seek.

Yet in this struggle, a fire ignites,

A determination to vanquish the nights.

For every negative word that I hear,

I'll write a poem that drowns out the fear.

I'll paint with words, a canvas of love,

A tapestry of hope, soaring high above.

I'll write of sunsets, and rainbows too,

To remind the world of the beauty that's true.

For in the face of adversity, I'll stand tall,

Writing poetry that breaks down the wall.

With every line, I'll fight the darkness within,

And uplift hearts with the love I bring.

So, though it's not easy, I'll continue to write,

To spread joy and kindness, with all my might.

For in this world of negativity and strife,

I'll be the poet who brings back life.
