We Touched, We Kissed

Two orbits aligning,
Through strife and through pain.
Our lips, then our hands,
Were never estranged.

Though only a few moments
With just one more night,
We knew that our touch
Would survive such a slight.

Some things aren’t forever,
Some things never change.
This hunger, this thirst,
Can never arrange.

We took our few moments,
With passion and calm.
As bodies did merge,
We did find a balm.

Whatever will happen,
What could come next.
The greatest joy
is not in this text.
