Wanting What Is Wished

Selectively speaking.

What is wanted wished to get,
To no longer want.
Should not be the reason to start or begin,
A heated argument.
Or stop anyone from feeling,
Leaving well enough alone.

Whatever goes to show unappreciated.
Time and time again.
Done to expect respect not received,
Why should anyone become upset?

Yet...
Underneath,
One's display of disappointment...
Is a hidden sigh of relief.
To receive that which was wanted wished.
In anticipation to get.
And expected done.

'It's not always about you.
What it is I do.
To make me feel unappreciated.'

'Please!
This act of yours has grown as old,
To see time and time again.
It's not about me.
It is more about you.
Hoping something I do,
Is enough to rush out and tell others...
Whatever it is you do for me,
Goes unappreciated.
Then each time you say,
Don't mention what you've done.
To anyone.
Because all they will do,
Is make a big deal about it.
Although...
Selectively speaking,
You are the one choosing to tell someone.
After claiming,
You rather keep what you do for me.
Unexpectedly.
To keep between us!'

'Yeah, but...
The doing of that you do too well!'
