Saying bye to you

Blank verse
A pure indication of bliss
As he makes his way up the hill
A feeling that overwhelmed him quite often
As dejection scarcely overcame him.

A tennis ball that was not being retrieved
But rather gathered.
The game could never end so quickly
When time and vitality are promising him everlasting companionship.

About this poem

For a lost but beloved golden receiver. May he rest in peace.
