Barren

Agonize over a seed
That did not sprout, did not breed
That did no flower, did no tree
That set no smile, only grief

That got no rays, that sent no bees
That bent no wind, that watched no seas
That laid no shadow, felt no breeze
That fell asleep when no one sleeps

I loved the lyricism of this poem as well as the allusion and double entendre.

Simple emotions are explained in simple terms, I think that's the beauty of poetry. I hope to write emotions as accurately someday.
