"Night And Day"

Teresa Whitney Whitney 1951 (Tacoma, Wash)

Night and day passes fast,
Tomorrow may never come,
I await here for your arrival,
Basking in the sun,

I talk to you quite often,
Reminiscing about yesteryear,
Wishing I am so often,
Soon you will be here,

No matter how long it takes,
I await your arrival here,
Recalling what you once said,
" I'll return to you in a year",

Since that time I've been alone,
Doing what I do best,
Thinking of all the fun we had,
And then to take a rest,

Will my wishes soon come true,
Will you one day return,
I can hope, and always dream,
A lesson yet to learn.
