I Write

There were days when I felt like I just might.
Instead, I write,
Took the time the clear my mind,
I still couldn't find the words to make this rhyme,
Maybe if I joke a little it wouldn't hurt as much.
My aura burned out,
That made me lose track and it pushed me back,
I couldn't take it,
Til this day I wish I knew not to fake it.
Uncomfortable in my own skin,
Hair just getting thin,
A disease eating me from within,
Oh, how I wanted my life to end,
What should I do?
Feeling strayed and disconnected,
Forcing myself to live on the high line,
Looking pass my past where I played in the grass,
Use to wear on a smile just to get by,
But my aura is black.
Lacked the motivation I need for reconstruction,
Caused by years of destruction,
I thought I just might,
But instead, I write.

About this poem

The sun doesn't shine every day, and those days were so dark I couldn't find anything including myself. Struggling with expressing myself aloud, writing became a coping mechanism for me.
