Bandaids.

I opened the band aid, placed it on the wound.
The bleeding has stopped, but where were you?
I lay in my bed, the pain disappears.
I fell asleep, I wake up clear.
You forgot about the cut, so did I,
until I roll out of bed, stretch too high
and the scab ripped open, began to gush.
Because a bandaid can stop the bleeding, but the wound won't stay shut.

About this poem

This poem is about a metaphorical cut. It resembles someone hurting you, but you cant just put a bandaid on a cut that deep.
