I was more

I was more. I was more than a student with endless curiosity and fascination without limit. I seeked answers in all subjects and questions, even those that remained unfinished.

I was more than a soldier, willingly volunteering to deploy to face certain dangers. So that those with more valuable and worthwhile lives could safety live them, even though we were complete strangers.

I was more than a police officer, who valued integrity and truth, working endlessly to be the best at it all. I sacrificed time, energy and heath to give it to complete strangers no matter how big and important, or unobtrusive and small.

I was more than a potential boyfriend and husband, putting my partners needs always first and all above my own. I gave myself freely to whom i thought worthy, though I was always constantly disappointed, used, and reciprocated love never shown.

I was more than a voice in the air, speaking softly to those who would deign to listen. Trying to share my experiences, points of views, or something that perhaps they had been missing.

I was more than a pair of eyes, who observed both the kindest acts and the most heinous deeds dared to be seen. I saw the beauty of nature, people, and events so great they seemed to me like a dream.

I was more than a person, a beautiful but damaged soul that tried to rise above the pain, misery, and heart ruthlessly shattered. Yet in the end all my efforts failed, I was nothing but a void, someone that never truly mattered.
